I recently wrote a thread on the most important lessons I’ve learned from my father’s death. This article goes more in-depth on each specific one.

Let’s jump right in.

Nobody is coming to save you, especially as a man.

Men do not have the luxury of a savior.

As a masculine force of nature, you must save yourself and become the Hero of your story. Nobody, not your mother, father, uncle, grandfather, or friends, are going to free you from constraint.

They will likely be pillars of support, but to expect anything more is naive.

I learned this the hard way when my father died. Before that experience, I had never thought about being “alone” in the world.

And even though I have many beautiful people in my life, I now understand that I am all I have when all is said and done.
