“The man on top of the mountain did not fall there.” (Unknown)

When we see others succeed, we get caught up in the excitement of their success and we forget about the hard work and sacrifices that lay behind them. In following our own path to success, we must remember that nobody reaches the top without engaging in the climb.

For many people, they often forget that there is a personal mountain that needs to be climbed in the first place. This becomes a major problem for people because the stage is set for unrealistic expectations in life and that eventually leads down the road of emotions like frustration, disappointment and confusion.

The Missing Link

Here is the core of what people don’t understand: Personal success is often only seen when it is achieved by someone and what is not seen is everything that created the success in the first place.

It is rare for people to mention the unbelievable work ethic and mindset that came with people of great success such as Michael Jordan, J.K. Rowling or Mozart. This is the dark side of what it means to reach your personal mountain and yet it is absolutely necessary if you even want to attempt to wrestle with your personal greatness.
