The people you surround yourself have a massive impact on who you as an individual will become. They become the most influential people in your life for the very reason that you are around them a lot. Following this line of logic, it only makes sense to surround yourself with people who force you to grow.

Let me introduce you to a great rule of thumb called The Law of 33%: This is the idea of spending 33% of your time each with people below you, on your level, and above you. This can be done by dividing your day in thirds.

In most cases, many people have an imbalance when it comes the the law of 33% because they find themselves in multiple circumstances such as:

  1. People Below Your Level — In many cases, people spend most of their time with people who are not at their level. I believe that they do this because it makes them feel comfortable about their current situation as opposed to going out and finding people on their level or above their level. When I say “people below your level,” I don’t mean that you are better than them but rather that you are excelling more than they are in most aspects of life.
  2. People On Your Level — People also tend to spend most of their time with people on their level for the very same reason of comfort but…
