The One Habit That Will Skyrocket Your Mindfulness
“If you are cold, tea will warm you; if you are too heated, it will cool you; If you are depressed, it will cheer you; If you are excited, it will calm you.” (William E. Gladstone)
I have recently been experimenting with drinking more tea and have noticed something very interesting over the past few weeks: Tea drinking has allowed me to improve my mindfulness.
Now, this sounds odd to most people because they don’t see how that would connect but let me show you how this works.
A Perfect Mindfulness Practice
The ritual of drinking tea really sets you in the present moment assuming that you only sit down and drink tea without any distractions such as your phone.
When we engage in the ritual of drinking tea, we become highly attuned to what we are doing in the present moment. We feel the heat of the cup, notice the steam rising from the surface, and carefully apply our lips to the cup so that we don’t burn ourselves.
All of these small adjustments in awareness make a major difference in terms of how we become mindful in our day to day lives. This is exactly why I think that drinking tea, if done correctly, can skyrocket your level of mindfulness.
