The Scarce Nature Of Time
“People are frugal in guarding their personal property; but as soon as it comes to squandering time they are most wasteful of the one thing in which it’s right to be stingy.” (Seneca)
There is such immense value to the amount of time that each of us as an individual has on this planet and yet there is nothing more often ignored than how we spend our time.
Most people seem to stroll through life almost in an unconscious daze and before they know it, they reach the conclusion of their lives.
One of the principles of people who live an extraordinary and fulfilling life is that they value their time because they know they only have so much of it. They spend their time in activities that produce flow. They spend their time with people who force them to push their boundaries in various ways. Most importantly, they live in the present moment without having a need or desire to escape.
How can we start to value our time?
- Produce Flow States — Getting into flow is one of the most addicting and liberating feelings a human being can have. In my opinion, by regularly dropping into a state of flow, you’ll start to see how subjectivity plays an enormous role in the flow time and therefore, you’ll be more likely to have time move the way you’d like it to move.
