Think About The Death Of Your Loved Ones

I recently started to contemplate death because of a nostalgic urge to watch some Alan Watts videos on YouTube.

But, I came out with what I think is a wise lesson to implement within one’s life — to contemplate the death of one’s loved ones. There are many reasons for why this is such an effective tool to use in life such as:

  1. Awareness of Death — Thinking about the death of your loved ones brings forth the very topic of death. In society, we are told to ignore our death and we are even distracted out of the fact that it exists. Awareness is the foundation to all personal growth and a more intimate relationship with death brings you to the point of wanting to live life the way you want and to the fullest.
  2. Worst Case Scenario — Thinking about the death of your loved ones and yourself will prepare you for the inevitable because everyone you know will pass on from this life, including yourself. This will give you a certain expectation and will actually improve your relationships because you understand that nothing lasts forever and that change is the only constant in life.
  3. A Healthy Relationship With Death — Contemplating the death of your loved ones and your own death brings you closer to a more beautiful and healthy…
