Use These Two Habits To Weather The Storm
--
How you respond during the days, you feel like shit says a lot about your character and determines whether or not you respect yourself.
Right now is one of the most confusing times in my life, and it’s easy for the mind to spin this sentiment into worst-case scenarios.
“How am I going to get through this?”
“Will I make it out of this situation?”
“What the hell am I going to do?”
Thoughts like this take root within the mind, but only if you allow those seeds to grow by feeding them.
I’ve been through dark times, just like you. The only difference between myself and millions who don’t escape that black hole is the understanding that this too shall pass.
Discipline has always been there for me because I know it’s the meta solution to all problems, whether you’re broke or struggling to cultivate meaning.
It doesn't matter how much bravado you have; life will continuously test you.
It’ll break you down to see if you’re mature enough to rebuild from ground zero. It’ll throw death, disease, and doubt, especially when you least expect it.
The warrior archetype is underrated, and many don’t understand how powerful it is until they are pushed into a corner — mentally, physically, financially, emotionally, and spiritually.
Dark moments feel infinite, but I’m here to tell you they don’t last forever.
Spend more time in the muse
I always rely on three things during my darkest moments — soccer, writing, and solitude.
All three give me more than I give it, even though I’ve spent thousands of precious hours with each.
No matter how terrible I feel, they are there for me.
Your muse will likely be different, but it has the same value.
Cherish the activity.
Spend more time with it.
Never let it go because others tell you that it’s not a productive use of time.
