Why Modern Man Is A Weak & Docile Creature
--
“Masculinity is not something given to you, but something you gain. And you gain it by winning small battles with honor.”
Norman Mailer
Modern man is weak because he is addicted to comfort.
Never before has modern man been subjected to such chronic comfort in the evolutionary timeline of our species.
For 99% of history, life as a man was a constant battle of will, courage, determination, movement, and character.
Things have changed drastically.
Now, man spends most of his time inactive, plagued by neurotic thought, refined sugar, low consciousness entertainment, and pornography.
Everything he does now is an attempt to escape from himself.
And the most insidious part about this lifestyle is everything seems fine to him because life in a first-world nation is luxurious, relatively speaking.
Modern man is weak because he fails to confront his shadow.
Failing to confront one’s shadow ties in heavily with being distracted by various comfortable activities.
He spends all of his time on the hedonic treadmill, trying to escape from reality — that he’s fat, that he’s broke, that he struggles to get out of bed every morning.
Every once in a while, his mind opens up to the possibility that he is responsible for what his life has become.
But sure enough, it’s nothing more than a fleeting thought.
Craving and poor habit patterns chain him down because he worships one thing — his cravings.
Modern man is weak because he fails to learn about masculinity through osmosis.
He either lives in a single mother household or has an abusive/absent father who doesn’t show him the masculine way.
We have plenty of evidence to suggest that not having a strong masculine role model growing up has a destructive impact on a boy’s psyche.
